Hilton Hotel

Artificial plants, Living plants, Semi-artificial tree, Moss garden

As part of the Hilton Sydney’s 50th anniversary renovation, Easygreen delivered a series of greenery installations across key areas of the hotel. The project included artificial planting, living plants, and the creation of two large semi-artificial trees, bringing natural presence and visual impact to the newly redesigned spaces.

Scope of work

We worked closely with the client and their team to understand the project requirements for the Hilton Sydney Hotel and deliver the high standards expected of such an iconic venue. From the outset, we recognised this was a project perfectly suited to our level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to premium finishes.

Our scope included the installation of artificial greenery within the newly renovated café, along with living plants placed in planters throughout the lobby area to introduce a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.

The centrepiece of the project, and its most technically challenging element, was the design and fabrication of two semi-artificial feature trees. Originally measuring approximately 7 metres, the trees were adjusted to final installed heights of around 6 metres and 5 metres. The natural trunks were carefully selected in collaboration with the client, dried, and transformed in our studio into realistic statement trees using high-quality artificial foliage.

Due to transport constraints, the trees were sectioned prior to delivery from the Gold Coast to Sydney, then reassembled and securely installed on site. Preserved moss was applied at the base of each tree to create a natural transition and further enhance realism.

For the larger tree, integrated lighting installed by others required careful coordination and concealment. Easygreen developed custom solutions to discreetly hide all visible cabling by creating artificial trunk extensions around the services, ensuring a clean, seamless, and natural final appearance.

The Project

One of our most technically challenging and rewarding projects, the Hilton Sydney commissioned us to deliver ultra-realistic, large-scale trees for their newly renovated lobby.

Due to site constraints, live trees of that scale (4.5 m and 6 m tall) were not viable. Our team developed a bespoke solution: semi-artificial trees, crafted by sourcing real tree trunks and pairing them with premium artificial foliage for a hyper-realistic finish.

The project involved months of meticulous fabrication in our Gold Coast studio, where each tree was custom-built for the space. To ensure seamless delivery and installation, the trees were carefully cut into transportable sections, shipped to Sydney, and then reassembled overnight on-site — with precision and speed.

The result is nothing short of stunning. These statement trees now anchor the Hilton lobby, delivering natural grandeur and lush biophilic impact without the maintenance of living trees.

Despite the logistical and technical challenges, the project was a complete success — and most importantly, the client was thrilled with the outcome.
