Bailey Hotel

Artificial vertical garden

Easygreen delivered one of Australia’s largest artificial green walls at the Bailey Hotel in Cairns, part of the Crystalbrook Collection — a premium hospitality group known for its contemporary and design-led properties. Spanning approximately 150 sqm and reaching up to 9 metres in height, the installation creates a striking vertical feature that defines the space.

Scope of work

A large-scale artificial green wall spanning approximately 150 sqm and rising up to 14 metres high was designed and installed as a major feature of the space. The wall was fully constructed on site, with each plant individually placed to achieve a dense, natural, and highly realistic finish.

Due to the scale and height of the installation, works were carried out using a boom lift, allowing safe and precise placement across the entire vertical surface. Larger plant species were carefully selected and positioned to create a strong three-dimensional effect, enhancing depth and visual impact.

To further elevate realism, live plants were incorporated into planters at the base of the wall, blending seamlessly with the artificial greenery and creating the impression of a fully living installation.

In addition to the green wall, Easygreen installed two large artificial palm trees, each approximately 7 metres high, reinforcing the tropical identity of the environment.

The complete installation was delivered over a 7-day period, including both day and night works, ensuring all elements were completed in line with the project programme.

The Project

Bailey Hotel in Cairns is home to one of the largest and most realistic artificial green walls in Australia — a stunning vertical installation measuring over 100 sqm and rising 14 metres high.

Our team designed and installed this bespoke artificial green wall to replicate the lush appearance of living plants while offering durability and zero maintenance. To enhance the realism and scale of the project, we also added two custom 5-metre-tall artificial palm trees, creating a striking tropical ambiance.

As a clever design feature, we planted real living plants in the lower planters beneath the wall. This subtle integration creates a seamless visual transition, making it appear as though the entire installation is alive.

Thanks to the artistry and precision of our team, the final result is a visually spectacular and truly convincing biophilic statement — one that continues to impress guests and passersby alike.
