When Eliza and Liberty revealed their bathroom on The Block, one feature sparked more conversation than anything else, the moss wall. And yes, we’re proud to say we made it.

At Easygreen Interior, we specialise in custom moss walls and biophilic design, and being featured on one of Australia’s most-watched renovation shows was a proud moment. While the response from the public and judges was mixed, the impact was undeniable, and that’s exactly what great design should do.

Why a Moss Wall in a Bathroom?

Moss walls in bathrooms are still rare, but when done right, they can be stunning. In Eliza and Liberty’s case, the placement behind a large mirror may not have allowed the moss wall to shine. With a more thoughtful layout, such as making it a true feature wall or pairing it with smaller mirrors or lighting, the result can feel more intentional and visually balanced.

Bathrooms are often cold, hard spaces filled with tiles, glass, and echo. A preserved moss wall helps soften that environment, adding texture, warmth, and a calming, spa-like feel. It also:

In bathroom environments, only preserved Reindeer Moss is suitable. It's the only moss that can naturally absorb and release moisture without deteriorating, making it perfect for some humid spaces. At Easygreen Interior, we offer Reindeer Moss in a wide range of colours, and we guide our clients through the design process to ensure the result suits their space and vision.

In this case, Eliza and Liberty proudly made their own design choice, and we believe that’s what matters most. They took a risk and tried something new. The product they chose is sustainable, natural, and truly deserving of a place in modern interior design.

Rethinking Where Green Belongs

Yes, a bathroom moss wall was unexpected. But design evolves by breaking norms. In fact, more architects and interior designers are now integrating greenery into unconventional spaces , hallways, ceilings, powder rooms, even hotel lobbies and elevators.

What Eliza and Liberty did wasn’t a mistake , it was a push toward a more biophilic, sensory-driven approach to interiors.

Design That Sparks Conversation

Not every design decision will please everyone, especially on national television. But bold choices lead to new ideas, and that's how design evolves.

At Easygreen Interior, we believe nature belongs in every space, even the most unexpected ones. Moss walls are more than just a trend. They’re a sustainable, long-lasting, and low-maintenance way to bring natural texture and warmth into any interior.

Eliza and Liberty may have surprised the audience with their moss wall, but they made the right call by choosing a product that’s both innovative and environmentally conscious.

We’re proud to have been part of that moment on The Block, and even prouder to keep inspiring new ways to bring nature indoors.

So, Should You Use Moss Walls in a Bathroom?

Yes : if the conditions are right. Preserved moss thrives in stable indoor environments away from direct water or steam. Placed properly, it becomes a stunning, spa-like feature that adds depth and softness where tiles dominate.
